Step 2: Script Installation & Configuration
(1) Before installing the script, We need to configure the settings inside the
Instant Desktop Control Panel:
- Open the Control Panel application and click the Settings button.

- Fill in the fields provided in the General Tab option.

(a) This is the URL where you’ll install the Script. Use your own domain name. The /scripts/ is the folder in which you’ll upload the scripts. You can rename the folder to anything you like.
E.g; /news/.
But if you do so, make sure you change the URL in the settings and check that the
URL and the folder name on your server are identical.
(b) Most servers, require that you put “localhost” for this option. But it is always safe to check this setting with your hosting provider.
(c) This is the same database information that we save previously in notepad, while setting up the MySQL Database.

(d) Enter your contact details inside and the email address that you want people to reply
to when you send them messages.
(e) If you are offering the ViewerApp as a paid product – e.g; like a personalized coaching program, add a secret code that
only you will know and will want to share with your participants.
For example: if you start a
personalized coaching program with the use of this software, once your
attendees make the payment, they will be redirected to a secure page to get
the secret code. If ever they do not have the secret code you inserted, they won’t be able to download the application.
You can also use this Secret Code option even if you are offering a free subcription to your newsletter. It’s completely up to you.
- Click on the Remember Password Email to configure the email message which will be sent to the users whenever they forget their password.

(f) This is where you enter the subject of the email. Use a short subject line like:
“Password Reminder (Your Site Name)”
(g) The header section is the top part of the email that you can modify. You can enter anything you like inside. It could be a sponsor ad at the top, then insert something like:
“Here’s your account information:”
(h) The footer section is the bottom part of the email. Inside you can enter your name, website
url, P.S.
IMPORTANT: You shouldn’t put their username or password inside the header or footer. The software will autogenerate their account details and include them in the MIDDLE of the message.
Make changes only to the header and footer of the email message.
Here’s a sample Password Reminder email that will be sent to the user.

The account details will automatically be added in the middle of the message. You just need to
edit your header and footer text.
- Click on the New Users Email to configure the email message which will be sent to new users once they register their account.
Apply the same principle like above when typing the message. The only difference is that all new users will receive this email. Just tell them thank you for signing up. Then in the middle of the message, their account details with a link to the viewer will be inserted.
Click OK button once done!

(2) Browse for a file dmsettings.php in the folder which you install the
Control Panel.
(3) Right click the dmsettings.php file, select Copy. Open the Scripts folder in the
Desktop Communication folder. Right click inside the folder then select
Paste to place the file inside the Scripts folder.
(Note: Do NOT cut or delete the file!)
Copy from original folder

(4) Upload the Scripts folder to your server, along with all the files inside it.
Double check if you are uploading this folder in the same path and with the same name that you inserted in the Control Panel settings.
Inside the scripts folder, you'll
find these files inside.
- You can customize the html files to fit
your templates.
- There's also a tutorials folder
inside. Make sure you link back to this folder on your download page
because it provides instructions on how to use the desktop viewer application.
(5) Open your internet browser and go to the url you install the script. E.g;
http://yourdomain.com/scripts/
If the browser loads and you see something like the image below, then the everything is working fine.

If you do not see this, just go back to the start and repeat the steps above. It should work fine.
